Can you tell me more about PARC’s vision?

The vision for PARC – especially as it transitions into what is now termed “PARC 2.0” – is one of a globally influential hub for African-led scholarship that transcends multiple disciplinary boundaries. It’s about becoming a driver of critical thought leadership and transformative collaboration models that tackle ‘slow emergencies’ such as climate change, inequalities in health systems, and education. Central to this vision is embedding the Africa Charter as a standard across institutions and funding bodies, ensuring that research is not just about Africa, but fundamentally shaped by Africa. This is not an adjunct to the University’s mission – it’s now becoming one of its defining features of its global outreach.
